Have you ever been to Savannah, Georgia? Personally I have enjoyed a great amount of time in the area, but I was shocked to learn that many of our volunteers and members have not had the pleasure of visiting. We recently held a Leadership Council meeting at the Hyatt right on River Street, and we were all reminded and/or introduced to Savannah as a Georgia treasure. The views are just extraordinary, and we easily walked to countless Savannah attractions – Ghost Tours, Historic Tours, Carriage Rides, River Street Sweets and a long list of restaurants. Oh the restaurants! The food in Savannah is extra special.

This week I got to not only enjoy shrimp and grits at the Olde Pink House and crispy flounder at Garibaldi’s, but I also had the great pleasure of meeting so many wonderful GSCPA members that call Savannah home. We enjoyed an evening of business after hours at the Cocktails and Professionals After Hours event at Vic’s on the River. I am so jealous that our Savannah area folks can head over there for happy hour anytime they please. What a great view, and the Southern Pigs in a Blanket are delish!

Overall, it was a great meeting, and I can’t tell you how much I enjoy seeing all of the GSCPA volunteers generating ideas and positive developments for the GSCPA. Savannah was the perfect setting. I look forward to getting back down there to enjoy a few more of my favorite restaurants – Cha Bella, Circa 1875 and Alligator Soul.

P.S. If I have sparked your interest in the “Hostess City,” consider attending the Savannah Tax Forum on December 1-2!
